Can one have a lettuce party? A greens event? A salad soirée? Yes, one can! And we are. Because I cannot describe to you the way we feel about salad. We’re mad to grow it, mad to eat it, and mad to talk about it. Truth: every night, one of us walks down the basement stairs to the cooler and fills a bowl with fresh greens. One of us throws some oil, acid, salt, and mustard into the Vitamix. One of us roasts some nuts or blasts some chickpeas. One of us chops some veggies. And every night, there is not enough salad.
Emily Nunn, the blogger at The Department of Salad said that during the dark pandemic year, it was salad that brought lightness back to her life. She’d go to the farmer’s market and buy all the beautiful rainbow-colored stuff she could find. Eating those salads made her feel like a beautiful beast, devouring the earth’s treasures.
So we are taking our salad on the road. Join us on Sunday, May 23rd, at Curated Home Decor in Germantown, Wisconsin, for a farm-to-table salad fete! We will be demonstrating our three favorite vegan salad dressings and serving them over our delectable salad mix. Learn the 10 secrets to the most unforgettable salads, not including the most important one: "You're only as good as your greens." Discover how easy it is to blast broccoli, sear peaches, pickle onions, and grill radicchio. Get the lowdown on growing your own edible flowers and creating a fantastical tablescape using seasonal fruits and vegetables. We will be offering fresh greens, flowers, plants, and eggs for sale. All attendees will receive three samples of salad dressing and a 15% discount on Curated Home Decor merchandise. Such a fun way to spend a Sunday!
Due to Covid, this is an intimate affair. And last I checked, there were only a couple seats left. Don’t wait! Click here to register. If the event is sold out, drop me a line and I’ll ask about a waitlist.
