This Saturday, I'll be at Past Basket, the beautiful home decor shop here in Milwaukee, from 11 am - 3 pm for a meet-and-greet. If you are local, do come make my acquaintance and sample my mother's delicious baklava. Enter to win a $100 gift card and a free styling session.
We can chat about interiors and if you like, bring along pics of your "favorite" problem spots, and I'll happily offer some free advice.
I am very excited about this new collaboration with Past Basket. I look forward to helping people. Because sometimes we get stuck thinking that an overhaul is the only way to update our homes. Not so! Small changes can make a huge difference. Working with a stylist who can edit your things – quickly and without judgment – can be transformative.
WHAT IS A STYLIST?
A stylist is different from a decorator or a designer. I style tablescapes (above), mantels, collage walls, bookshelves, tray assemblages, and holiday decor. I work with what you own, but I can also source things that will help your space become cohesive. For a peek at what I can do, here is a sample of my work:
When you hire me to style, I will commit to you my ten promises as a stylist:
I will fall in love with your things. I will help you rank them in fabulousness.
I will not judge your clutter. If I do, you may view mine.
When it comes to family heirlooms and sentimental objects, I will help you honor your past.
Or not. You are the boss.
I will ease the process of editing.
I will help you get excited for a special occasion.
I will not waste your time. I'm quite fast at this.
I will share my favorite style tips: subtle symmetry, the mystery of the triangle, matchy-matchy no-no's, the MVPs of accessories.
I will remind you that perfect rooms are boring and that our homes should be like us – real, living and breathing spaces that tell a story about where we have been and how we have loved.
I will make you smile.
