Benjamin Moore's 2019 Color of the Year, a pretty gray they've named "Metropolitan," is as much a political statement as a paint. The company describes it as "calibrated silence." Like an antidote to chaos and fear? So when the news freaks us out, we can stare at our walls and calm down? It is my opinion that a Democratic presidential candidate will have to exude this color, or non-color. In other words, he/she will need to be bland, boring, and safe.
